Get dinner done in a breeze with this easy oven-baked trout. Simple and delicious, this easy preparation combines the mild flavor of trout with some pantry essentials – perfect for a weeknight meal.
To begin, you’ll need the following ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 4 trout filets
- 4 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 2 lemons (one for slicing, one for fresh lemon juice)
- 4 tsp. of Garlic Powder (or seasonings of choice, such as onion powder, lemon pepper, etc.)
- Salt & Pepper
With ingredients gathered, you can start cooking!
- Begin by preheating the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the trout filets on top, skin side down.
- Drizzle each filet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Using a pastry brush or spoon, spread the oil evenly over each filet.
- Next, sprinkle the fish with desired seasonings such as salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Next, slice 1 lemon, placing 1-2 slices on each filet of fish.
- Place the fish in the oven and let it bake for about 12-15 minutes.
- Check for doneness by using a food thermometer. The internal temperature of the fish should be 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the filets from the baking sheet with a fish spatula.
- Discard the lemon slices and serve.
- If desired, cut some additional lemon wedges for serving, enjoy!
